Purezza (purity) was founded in 2015, becoming the first vegan pizzeria in the UK. We are plant pioneers, revolutionising Italian food through cruelty free ingredients. Our aim is simple: to make our plant based menu superior to the traditional alternatives.
We spent over two years developing our mozzarella in our laboratory using a Italian brown rice. As passionate Italians, nothing less than a similar comparison to traditional mozzarella would have been enough. Our cheese is not only tastier than traditional mozzarella, it’s also less than half the calories and fat (meaning you can eat double the amount!). We don’t just stop at mozzarella, we also do raw cashew cheeses, a ricotta style cheese and a creamy coconut cheese. Our cheeses, in particular the mozzarella, take a loooong time to make and we put a lot of passion into it – trust us, they’re worth it!
We developed our pizza dough over many years, based on a traditional family recipe, as always, but with a twist. The dough is freshly made each day using a type 2 flour (much healthier than double zero flour) and matured for forty eight hours before being stretched and served. We also make dough using hemp flour, for an even healthier and refreshing alternative.
Whilst all our food is animal-free, therefore, also dairy and meat-free, gluten-free food is also at the forefront of our innovation. We currently have a wide range of gluten-free options, including a meaty pea protein burger, creamy pasta dishes and delicious raw food choices.
A large drinks and desserts menu, including cocktails, wines, craft beers, Oreo pizzas and tiramisu, allow you to be spoilt for choice.
